The enduring Czech people have survived many historic dates ending in eight, from the Přemyslids to the Soviets. In a filmed opinion poll, Miloš Kopecký has a Schweik-like conversation with a tailor's dummy and, with a head carved out of stone, he debates the significance of Alexander Dubček and the Prague Spring.biography
Václav Táborský (born 1928), a Czech pioneer of cinéma vérité, made over eighty short films and almost fifty educational programmes. After August 1968, he emigrated to Canada, where he worked as an educator. His work is divided into satirical documentary features and feature films for children, including Escape in the Wind and Miraculous Puzzle.more about film
