The Grand Finale of PSO

synopsis

The young director's debut takes the audience into the unknown world of a giant musical group. Police Symphony Orchestra is an amateur group of 80 young people from Police nad Metují, which Petra Soukupová founded at the age of 15 together with her brother. This East Bohemian orchestra has played hundreds of concerts all over the country and abroad. Together they try to overcome and break down myths and stereotypes of classical music. During its existence, the orchestra has managed to give away over two million crowns through fundraising events, while performing as amateurs themselves without receiving a fee. For the opening of its 10th season, the PSO fulfilled a big dream - a birthday concert in the sold-out Prague Lucerna.

biography

Graduate of film directing at the Akademie Michael v Praze. Since 2018 he has been working with Czech Television. At the Czech Philharmonic he works as a director of documentary films and interviews with world classical music personalities (Simon Rattle, Daniel Harding, Semyon Byčkov, Jakub Hrůša, Magdalena Kožená and others) for international live broadcasts. In collaboration with David Ostružár, they directed one of the largest and most successful live online concerts of that time - the Police Symphony Orchestra benefit concert during the spring 2020 coronavirus crisis. The Grand Finale of PSO is his feature film debut.
