synopsis
An exploration into feelings of disorientation and uncertainty through questions posed to fictional beings displaced from an inhospitable environment. An ingenious found-footage collage layers images from different times and sources to parody possible futures dominated by misinformation and experience of the presence of alien elements, movements, anatomies and gestures.biography
Malaz Usta is a filmmaker, designer and graphic artist. Born in Damascus, he studied filmmaking in Istanbul and Amsterdam, where he currently lives. His films often deal with themes of home, exile and belonging, exploring the poetics of waiting and uncertainty.
