synopsis
Growing up in West Germany in the 1980s, Aline imagined a gregarious life on the other side of the Berlin Wall. Meanwhile, in communist Bulgaria, Veselina believed that everyone was happy under capitalism. In their collaborative hybrid documentary, they use their childhood fantasies to sketch a new utopia.biography
Aline Helmcke (1974) is a Berlin-based artist working in drawing, collage and animation. She studied fine art in Berlin and animation in London. Veselina Dashinova (1984), Bulgarian animator and teacher, studied in London as well. Their work has been presented at numerous film festivals and exhibitions.more about film
