synopsis
This narrative documentary, containing a large volume of period materials, tracks a group of Chilean economists who were influenced by their study of Friedman’s neoliberalism in the USA. They helped to shape Chile as Latin America’s economic crown jewel during Pinochet’s regime. This controversial economic experiment has led to the current social unrest in the country.
