Butterfly Girl

synopsis

Six-year-old Viktorka tries to understand the complex relationships in her family. At the same time, she prepares for her sibling to be born and the first day of school. Her optimism, playfulness and imagination help her overcome all challenges. The camera also adheres to the child's perspective, in which every day is full of small miracles.

biography

Ema Hůlková (2001) is a film director and actress. She studies documentary directing at FAMU. Her films Beyond the horizon, Where it’s green a lot and In the bathroom have been screened at IFF Ji.hlava, FAMUFEST and IFF ZOOM. Her experimental film Dodo Story received nominations for script, sound and editing awards at FAMUFEST and will be shown next at Skomrahi. She completed an internship at KaDISS and starred in films such as Love Bites, that screened at the BFI IMAX London as part of the Straight 8 festival.
