Drť & Fedor Gál
A truly exceptional project. The literary and political thinker Fedor Gál (79) is the vocalist of a unique concert performance, where his excited lyrics become his testimony about the regimes of the 20th and 21st centuries. On stage, Gál is a bit of a slamming poet, a beatnik, a shouting demonstrator and a simple witness to Nazism, state socialism, coups, mečiarism and the present, an advocate for minorities and ordinary people whose lip service turns into rock'n'roll slogans. The experimental group Drť, headed by Miro Tóth, is one of the restless elements of political culture in Slovakia and at other times collaborates with Michal Kaščák. The urgent and deeply authentic music of Drť and Fedor Gál was awarded this year's Dominik Tatarka Prize. A wild concert on the eve of the anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia.
