Studied Communication Sciences in the New University of Lisbon. Joined Doclisboa - International Film Festival in 2021 as programmer and programme coordinator. In the end of 2019 became part of the Direction of Doclisboa and is since 2016 member of the board of Apordoc - The Portuguese Documentary Association.
In parallel to the work developed at Doclisboa, Miguel was part of the artistic collective Rabbit Hole from 2013 to 2016 and founded the production company Filmes do Asfalto through which produced the film António Um Dois Três (Leonardo Mouramateus, 2017).
Miguel is a regular presence in international film festival and was part of juries in festivals such as CPH:DOX, Thessaloniki, Málaga, Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife, among others.
