System I-VI

synopsis

Short structural études are worked in with three shots, including three types of tracking shots, and three types of sound variations. The individual elements and functions of this audiovisual structure are presented to the audience gradually; and an increasingly complex implementation of the system’s options can be observed without becoming disoriented.

biography

Ryszard Waśko (1949) was active in the Lodz art scene in the 1970s and was a member of the avant-garde art group, Workshop of the Film Form (Warsztat Formy Filmowej), whose mission was to analyse and explore the film medium. Many of the workshop’s artistic efforts were exhibited in galleries.
