Radiograph of a Family
Firouzeh Khosrovani / Iran, Norway, Switzerland / 2020 / Czech Premiere / 82 min.
synopsis
A reconstruction of a marriage – a modern family split in two culturally divergent entities. Their life journey is narrated as an essay composed of old photographs and video diaries and accompanied by the gentle voice of the director, Firouzeh Khosrovani. Being the only child of Iranian mother devoted more to Islam than to her family, and Iranian father who adored modern European culture and admired Bach‘s classicist music, she is aware of how these two identities have formed her personality. This multifaceted romantic story recounts the struggles between tradition and modern society in the context of not only the nuclear family and the universe of their apartment, but also in the context of extravagant Europe and secular Iran of the past century.
