synopsis
A static camera watches people gather reeds from a frozen lake. The men live in the silence of nature, falling asleep gathered around a single stove. They come here to feed their families, working from dawn to dusk, and yet they fall into debt. The steam that comes from their mouths can barely hide the reality of words with no hope for a better life.
biography
In his documentary films, Turgay Kural (1984) focuses on people struggling against the forces of nature. He is also a respected photographer and a correspondent for a national newspaper. Cibik was shown at the 2015 Jihlava IDFF.
