synopsis
The unconventional narrative, saturated with stories transported across the ocean and the experience of emigration to an unknown and hostile environment, is set in the space between Lebanon, Mexico, Vietnam and Norway and in the interval of one century. Narrative leaps, visual and sonic playfulness, and the use of split-screen techniques determine the brisk pace of the narrative, which mixes the comic with the mysterious.“Why do you want to tell everyone that story? biography
Mauricio Monterrubio (born 1989) is a Mexican cinematographer and director. As a cinematographer, he has worked on short and feature films, music videos and television series. He works for Contrabajos films. Since 2012, when he made his first short film Andwele/Zumbi, he has also been focusing on his own experimental work.more about film
