Arcadii Faustov (1936–2009) never formally studied filmmaking, but worked as a director, cinematographer and screenwriter. A graduate of the Power Engineering Institute, from 1965 he led the Film Studio at the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute, where he taught aspiring filmmakers. Faustov’s graduates include Eugene Mamut, creator of special effects in the Hollywood hit Predator (1987).more about film
