Marguerite Duras and Little François
Roger Kahane / France / 1965 / Czech Premiere / 9 min.
synopsis
Marguerite Duras asks seven-year-old François about the future, television, school, the Belphegor, literature, or what is the point of writing, counting... Do you think horses will talk? That children will spend their holidays on the moon? What's the point of television? The admirably conducted conversation does not fall into banal childishness, but interestingly reveals a way of thinking.biography
Roger Kahane (1932–2013) came from a scientific family. Despite this, he devoted himself to film, and in particular was a prolific director of television productions and series. He was known for his austere and sombre style. He liked to adapt complicated texts. Notable are his documentaries on the art world. He also devoted himself to theatre and ballet. Only his film Madly (1969) with Alain Delon is better known in Czech Republic.more about film
