synopsis
Like at the New Year’s Eve, showers of colourful light cut through the darkness. While fireworks dissolve into nothing after a thunderous sound, shattered glass leaves material artifact. Sharp pieces then become a reminder of the real track that fireworks leave in the sky.“I have always been fascinated with fireworks. So I decided to portray its immitation.”

biography
Zdeněk Picpauer (b. 2001) is a student at the Studio of Digital Media at the Faculty of Art and Design at UJEP in Ústí nad Labem, where he also produced his film Glasswork (2022). Last year his photograph of the Vltava meander was included among the 30 best shots in the international competiton CEWE Photo Award 2021.more about film
