An in-depth, film analysis of a series of photographs depicting the human body in motion, which Rybczyński manually "digitised" by repeatedly photographing, dividing, and overlapping individual fields with white and black squares and later adding colour filters to depict a fierce dance in jazz rotation.biography
Zbigniew Rybczyński (1949) is a world-renowned experimental filmmaker who was an active member of the Workshop of the Film Form (Warsztat Formy Filmowej) during his studies in Lodz in the early 1970s. A Square is his first student film.more about film
