Less Work, More Life / Finding a path towards changing the system?
Digital technologies hold the promise of streamlining our work, taking it completely off our hands, or at least giving us time and space for other crucial areas of our lives, such as leisure. There is a growing debate about the four-day work week and its benefits not only for human health but also for the climate. Digital platforms, in turn, promise work that is better suited to individual capabilities and needs. What role does the distribution of time between 'work' and 'leisure' play in debates about today's big challenges such as digitalisation and climate change? Will we achieve a four-day work week in our lifetimes, and what will it take? And for whom is the technological promise of greater flexibility in life turning into the opposite?
