2 workshops (180-240 min each, participant will choose only one of them)
SUNDAY, October 28 – MONDAY, October 29
Workshop participants attend festival films and work on their tasks. Consultations with lecturers are possible (each has an hour and a half “office hours”). Keep in mind: each participant selects 1 genre and writes 1 text only (except for second time participants who write 2 texts). The optimal extent of the individual texts is specified by the lecturers (ranging from 2 to 4 standard pages).
TUESDAY October 30
- 10.00 am – 5.00 pm / Individual groups
The individual groups are discussing and analysing the texts of all students in parallel.
MONDAY, October 12
- Students submit the second, rewritten version of their text to the lecturers as well as to the their university professors.
- Selected texts are published on the www.dokrevue.com website.
- Workshop participants can use their texts in the media they may already work for.
- participation in all 3 lecture blocks
- writing a text in the selected genre
- completing the critical seminar with the lecturer
- submitting the rewritten text version to the lecturer as well as to the supervising pedagogue
Attendance is possible also for students who have already participated in the seminar one or two times before. They can omit the first two lecture blocks (they are similar each year). They only take part in the third lecture block and within the time schedule, they should write 2 texts in 2 various genres. They pass the critical seminar with both of them (the schedule will be adapted to this).
If you want to pass the seminar for the second time as a university course, please make sure that you can repeat the seminar for credits – it is not allowed by some of the universities that offer the Media and Documentary seminar as an optional subject (i.e. the seminar can be repeated including the offered benefits such as the free press accreditation, but only outside the university curriculum and without entitlement to credits).
